Writing Program Submission Policy

  • The subject of the paper should be a current strategic, operational, or management issue of importance to the United States and to the National Guard, but the Editorial Board will consider other critical subjects.  
  • Command & Staff and War College papers are welcomed.
  • Unclassified papers only.
  • Papers must be original and unpublished, and should not exceed 5,000 words. Accompanying charts and drawings must be reproducible in black and white.
  • A title page, a 100 word abstract, and a one-page biography of the author must accompany the manuscript.  
  • Use end notes for all citations, references, and supplemental comments.
  • An editorial board will review papers for accuracy, quality, scholarship, significance, and relevance.
  • The Board prefers to receive papers in Microsoft Word format.
