Qubad Talabany

 

 

Qubad Talabany serves as Deputy Representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Washington Office. In that capacity, he works closely with the United States Government as well as American-based media outlets. In the absence of the organization’s Representative from Washington, Mr. Talabany serves as Acting Representative. Previously, he filled that position for several months when the PUK transitioned a new Representative to direct the Washington Office.

Mr. Talabany also served for a year as a Special Assistant to a previous PUK Representative in Washington, Dr. Barham Salih. Dr. Salih currently holds the position of Prime Minister, in the PUK-led Administration of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Mr. Talabany’s family has been involved in Kurdish politics for decades. He has been interested in Kurdish political affairs from an early age, and has taken an active role in these issues since 1996.

Mr. Talabany studied for his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in London. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
